Christmas contingency plans

If the Aged Parent and I are unable to fly to family in Switzerland this week - any recommendations for local pubs/restaurants for an alternative christmas dinner?  Is everywhere going to be booked up solid or is there scope just to turn up on the day (or ring for a delivery!).

Could try the George and Dragon pub on the High Street. They do good food there. Also the Lantern Taverna by Ealing Common Tube station.

The Rocket is doing Xmas day lunch, but it may be booked up.

You could try cooking for yourself. Its easy when you know how.

Well, naturally, one knows how to cook a Christmas Dinner.  My point is, that we have not bought the turkey, sprouts, parsnips etc because we are booked on a flight abroad for Christmas.  Therefore, if said flight is cancelled we won't have the fixings for Christmas dinner so may have to improvise. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Bless!  Thai food for Christmas is (almost) worth suffering a cancelled flight for!  Thank you!  I am being optimistic and have done a preliminary pack of my suitcase to work out the logistics of fitting clothes, christmas presents etc in.  Blooming heavy already, and that's without the Christmas pudding...

We had another good lunch at the Station House yesterday.  They are open for lunch & drinks Christmas Day.
