Acton High Street -Skating Rink

Not sure if the Council gritted the pavements in the High Street but it was like a skating rink this morning coming back from Morrison's.

Only parts of the high st were gritted.... i work as a postman in acton, & find it a disgrace that they can't grit it all... but we aren't chiswick are we!!!

Robert, my sympathy and best wishes to all Postal staff during this difficult weather. I was surprised to see my postie yesterday morning as had thought given the snow, they might have cancelled. Pavements currently OK in my road, still very snowy as opposed to ice or slush.

Yes Ian, i thought our deliveries would be cancelled, but when we first went out,it wasn't to bad... thanks for your concern... we have it lovely in the summer though see!! Let's see what monday brings.... Acton was a standstill on saturday morning, traffic was gridlocked everywhere, gonna be slippery i reckon....

Robert, doesn't the Post Office supply you with the proper footwear for such conditions?

Yes Dee they do.... but it still don't help in these conditions!! anyway i'm a postman driver, so spend most of my times driving around the high st, churchfield rd & horn lane... but i grasp your point :)

Robert.... perhaps you need to be supplied with snow chains.In any event it wouldn't hurt the shop keepers in the High Street to clear their own frontages - as used to happen in times gone past.  If they want the business ........ but there again, they may not.  Tones of 'not my job' !!
