Yes the Winter Fayre did go on despite the snow storm-- and the hard work of the organisers was demonstrated by the committment of Vanessa ,Action Acton Market supervisor ,Oaktree and St Mary's Church, the volunteers from Oaktree offering free tea, coffee, mulled wine and mince pies, the Carol singers and musicians, Father Christmas and his young helpers who gave free presents to those hardy children (and parents) who weren't put off by the snowstorm, the Face Painter who painted many faces despite risk of frostbite, and the stall holders who also stuck it out. And it was great to see Michelle, the intrepid actonW3.com editor braving the cold and snow so she could report back on the w3 website (see photos on front page). So congratulations to all those who carried on with the festivities despite the disapointment of the weather. Its great to see such determined community spirit by local people and local groups from Acton. Lets hope for even more of it in 2011!
