Bombay Bistro
Had heard good things about Bombay Bistro so last night a couple of us went for a little pub crawl along the Uxbridge Road starting at the Kings Head with a view to finishing with a good curry. However, when we got there it was closed, the sign said open Sundays 5:30 to 11pm (we got there about 8pm), staff were inside presumably doing takeaways, no explanation to closure on the door. Having worked in the services trade a long time ago, we understood that we had to be open, no matter how quiet, at published hours otherwise we would lose custom due to customers not being sure if we would be open or not, and not taking a chance.On the plus side though, we popped across the road to Pinto (Thai) which is a bring your own, and had what I thought was the best Thai I’ve had for many a year, lovely strong flavours, properly hot, decent service, decent décor, comfortable chairs, inoffensive music (low) and all for a very reasonable price which made it difficult to fault. Will be going there again for sure.
