Just moved in and we're very happy to be here !

HiThere's masses to do round here - whatever your interests - and it's quite easy to get to other places too.If you want to meet people, you could try the community association drinks on February 2nd in the Kings Head on the Mount, or (unfortunately the same night) the ward forum at St Mary's church hall where you get a chance to meet our councillors and find out what the issues concern people round here.But there's also pubs and restaurants and beauty salons galore and loads of stuff like film clubs and comedy nights.This site is a good way to find out what's on so clever you for discovering it so soon!

Thanks everyone, we've made good use of Lavellis (even before moving in!) and The Rocket already... I like the sound of milk in glass bottles as well !!Sarah and I are really enjoying getting to know the area (we did only move from Ealing, but still its fun exploring)

Glad you've found The Rocket.  Other delights on Churchfield Road are, in no particular order, The Village Trading (for great coffee, nick nacks and lovely vintage clothes), Heart & Soul for flowers and Anthony Bell for the best hairdressers.  There is also a great fish shop near the corner with Steyne Road (on the way to Morrisons) but I'm not sure how ethical some of their stock is!

Welcome to the Acton.  If you like jazz there is free smooth jazz Sunday afternoons upstairs in the Station House, there is a great Thai cafe in market parade.  The best Indian takeaway locally is Bombay Brasserie on the High Street.  There is also a bookclub upstairs at the Rocket once a month on a Sunday.

Or you could try Ploy Thai cafe in Market Place. Not been open long, very nice Thai food, friendly staff, worth supporting.

Went to Bombay tonight, was great... its a shame to hear its closing down !!! Might check out the Jazz this Sunday... Its stumbling distance from home !

Welcome to Acton, I like 3 Spice in Churchfield Rd for curries, quite basic but authentic, eat in or take away....

Plus many places for pedicures and other beauty essentials ...a boot camp weekday mornings in Acton Park....and a cafe there too in which to recover, Three gyms within walking/short bike distance and several Tesco's. Plus Morrisons which really has good fruit, veg, bread and fish at keen prices and some quite surprising stock (and some quite surprising pick pockets too - so keep a look out - not everything is rosy!)
