Dear Mr Kennedy, We spoke yesterday about your enquiry regarding the Church Path footbridge in Acton. I have made some further enquiries on the points you raised. First of all lighting; the bridge itself does belong to Network Rail so it will be our responsibility for any repainting. The bridge will be inspected annually and any structural problems will be identified. I have checked with our Liabilities department and can tell you that Network Rail has no liability to provide lighting on this bridge. Therefore, this would be down to the Local Authority and if there are damaged lights, as you reported, this would also be down to them to repair. Likewise, as the footpath on the bridge is a public right of way it is also///////////// got this back from network rail so its down ealing council to look after this bridge their are no signs the footway is covered in branches; leaves etc so will see what happens
