Individuals pay for the lessons, we feel it more sustainable than offering free cycle checks. We're not a bike shop but a community workshop - so people drop by and borrow tools under supervision.We do run Dr Bikes too which is great for offering a quick tyre pump and re-assuring people about problems, but it's not as good as empowering people to do it themselves. Wish I hadn't used the "empowering" word.
