Cinnamon Palace

We noticed last night that the restaurant formerly known as So Asia on the High Street has reopened as the Cinnamon Palace. Judging from a very quick glance at the menu, it seems to major on the Indian subcontinent. Funny thing is, though, they don't seem to have redecorated at all; the buffet servery from the So Asia days is still there, although unused as far as we could see.And at 10:15 on Saturday night it was completely deserted. Granted it closes at 10:30, but there was no apparent sign that anyone had been in there at all. Anyone tried it? How long has it been open?

Well the So Asia opened, then closed for a while, reopened again for a short period and was gone again in November I believe. The sign on the window said 'Closed for refurbishment' which seemed rather odd because it was so near what would be the busy period over Christmas.Next thing we noticed is that the new sign went up 'Cinnamon Palace' but as you mention the interior hardly changed at all.Each time I pass it is almost deserted so I guess this will be yet another empty shop on the High Street before too long.There was a restaurant just along the road next to the old bus depot called Cinnamom something, this appears to have closed down so I wonder whether they have taken over ownershop of So Asia?

I've yet to see a single customer in there when I pass by each evening. Just one very bored looking waiter who you just have to feel sorry for.Don't people do any form of business evaluation before they open something that could have a high risk of failure based on past performance of the site and the type of cuisine it sold before? *sigh*

I walked past the other night and there were some customers! we plan to try it on Tuesday night, fingers crossed there is stuff for the kids!
