Local Residents WLWP Meeting 2nd March 2011

Interested local residents are invited to attend the Residents WLWP Consultation for the 5 proposed sites in the North Acton/Park Royal area on: Wednesday 2nd March 2011 at 7pm – 9pm Inco Europe Ltd (Sports Hall)Bashley Road, Park Royal, NW10 6SNThis is our opportunity to hear first-hand what is being proposed for the 5 WLWP sites in North Acton and Park Royal and to have our say, ask questions and raise any concerns:● What type and quantity of Waste will be recycled on each site?  ● Will these plans include an Energy from Waste or Incinerator Plant?   ● How will the waste be transported to and from the sites, by canal, road or rail?● Will it be hazardous, if so what type, how much and what controls will be in place?● Where and how much waste will be stored? ● What percentage is municipal, commercial and industrial and how far will the waste have travelled?● Where is the infrastructure to support these proposals?● Will there be restrictions on operators working hours/days of the week/number of vehicle movements, size of vehicles etc?● Will there be a full Environmental impact assessment on the surrounding residential areas to include increased air pollution, PM10 particles and Nitrogen Dioxide emissions and vehicle noise?● Examples of other areas in UK where waste/recycling sites are located in close proximity to residential developments and their impact on residents and the environment.Ealing Council West London Waste Plan proposed sites: Existing Sites: ●  Site 328: Quattro, Victoria Road, Park Royal, Transfer Station   ●  Site 352: Twyford Waste Transfer Station (Brent border) New Sites for Developing Waste Management: ●  Site 186: Coronation Road & Park Royal Road, Park Royal (8)●  Site 187: Coronation Road, Park Royal (9) ●  Site 183: Chase Road, Park Royal (2)  ●  Site 182: Victoria Road, Park Royal (1) ●  Site 191: Atlas Road, Park Royal ●  Site 386: Abbey Road (Brent border)  ● Site 129: Rail Sidings, Premier Park Road, Park Royal (Brent border)Parking available at venue. Bus route 440 stops outside. North Acton station a few minutes’ walk away.These proposed sites will have an impact on the surrounding areas, this is our opportunity to find out more and raise any concerns we may have.

..........everyone in Poets Corner/Churchfield Road need to take note of these proposals because all vehicle movements and the way in which the waste is dealt with could have a drastic effect on our roads/vehicle movements and not least of all air quality.Horn Lane could be turned into a major traffic route cutting Acton in two.

Reminder, residents meeting tomorrow night on Ealing's proposed sites for the West London Waste PlanThis is our chance to have our say, raise any concerns, and find out:How the waste will be transferred road, rail, canal?What type of waste will be recycled at these sites?How will it be processed, compacted/incinerated etc.,?Will there be an Energy from Waste Facility?What increase in pollution, noise and smells will these sites emit?All interested residents are welcome, the meeting is from 7pm - 9pm at Inco, Bashley Road, NW10 6SN.  Parking available at venue, nearest station North Acton, short walk away and Bus Stop 440 stops outside.Meeting will start at 7pm with a 30-40 presentation from Officers from Ealing and WLWP Consultations followed by a questions and answer session until 9pm
