Fishmongers

We are new to Acton so would be grateful for any suggestions on where we can buy some fresh fish around here. Thanks in advance.I did try searching the forum but there was only an old thread from 2009 about a fish stall at the Acton market. I don't think I've come aross one though.

We find that the best fresh fish this side of Chiswick is Mo's Fisheries, the Greek shop on the Uxbridge Road, opposite Ealing Common Tube. Not a huge selection, obviously, but the best, freshest fish to be found in Acton, mostly flown in fron Cephalonia.His sea bream is to die for.

There's one on the Uxbridge Road, just opposite Ealing Common tube station, and another at the top of Churchfield Road (just by the mount).  Anyone have experience with either of these?

There's a shop that sells fresh and frozen fish on the corner of Churchfield Road - quite near Morrisons.

Great, thanks! I look forward to sampling the fish in the shops you suggest. I picked up some tilapia from a waitrose near work but looking forward to some sea bream for next week's fish fix.

Also just to reiterate. Morrison's is great. Dab now and again, Octopus, great Mackerel. My only criticism is they have seemingly stopped buying in Pollock, not sure why.

I used to go to Mo's and agree it is good quality. It is expensive and there are no prices displayed (great if you can haggle!). I now mostly use Morrisons as they have a commitment to ethical sourcing.

quite agree with rave about Morrisons but if you are after something really special you should check out the japanese fishmongers by West Acton tube station; I honestly don't think you'll find any better..!
