New block of flats in Horn Lane next to Dentist

Does anyone like the green colour panels on the front of these flats?

Don't worry Dee, they'll probably paint it a different colour a few weeks after people start moving in.Service charge will cover the cost.

I noticed last week that a few of the windows have already been smashed and boarded up......not a promising sign :(

I hope that the green (wrong colour for opposite a park)are the ones that have been broken...!!  Of course I do not condone vandalism !!.But what planner in the Town Hall agreed to such a hideous colour for a Victorian streetscape! Probably someone from warmer climes perhaps?

Bit harsh, Sara.  I read the comment from Dee meaning that it was a bit like the style and loud colours they use on European holiday resort hotels and villas, ie places in the sun, rather than anything personal against the designer.It's the problem with these sorts of forums (and emails).  It depends on your own thinking as to how you interpret others.

If I was, I apologise but Doris makes some odd allegations - like suggesting a local shop (which looked closed for a day or so - but wasn't) might have had the environmental health people in. So I read it as xenophobia not an allusion to charming mediterranean decor.I expect Doris will tell us which it was.

The building which houses the dentist (which is actually in Summerlands Ave) wasn't built until after 1911, and the block of flats the other side of the new development were not built until much, much later!The green goes quite well with the multi-coloured dentist 'bays'! At least it's only a few panels - have you seen the lime green house in Chiswick  - corner of Heathfield Terrace and Sutton Court Road?

I prefer the new building to the dentists pods.  They're filthy and rarely seem to be cleaned.
