This is an awful shame. It is absolutely my favourite park/playground in the area, but unfortunately its plus points are also its downfall; it is secluded, private and relatively quiet so those that wish to get up to no good can. The police were patrolling it regularly to discourage the daytime drinking/druggy element and I've certainly never felt unsafe there, although the way too old to be on a roundabout and swings AHS kids hogging the equipment so the little kids couldnt use it were a nuisance. What possesses people to break into a park at night with bolt cutters to vandalise it? Its beyond me. This is exactly what happened last year just as the weather was on the up and we wanted to use the park all the time it was vandalised and closed for the majority of the spring/summer. Can anything be done? I can see why the council are loathe to spend money on it if 5 minutes later its going to be vandalised again, but surely something could be done about it? I'd willingly give up some time to help if anyone has any bright ideas or knows who to contact to get something done about it.
