Film Crew - Woodhurst / Cumberlland Road - parking suspension

Just back from a trip abroad to find my car has a ticket for being parked in a suspended bay ... but it is not where I parked it!Anyone see the film crew move my car across the road to make way for their vans (that are right now parking in section that does not have suspension!)

It would appear the council put some signs up on the wrong side of the road,  and therefore the council moved cars that were parked correctly to address their own error.  And moved them poorly i.e leaving them several feet from the kerb not bothering to push in wing mirrors. A complete lack of respect by the council and the film crew for peoples property bearing in mind the roads there are narrow and susceptible to being knocked by passing cars.  A bit more effort could have been made to put the signs up correctly in the first place,  and to move cars with care.  Actually no I am being too reasonable they should not have touched the cars!

I spoke to the film crew this morning - and here is how they described it to me ...They confirmed that Ealing Council contractors moved my car (and a few others) and that they put the ticket on my car before moving it (at least that meant I was right in remembering where I parked where I did).When the crew arrived Thu AM they parked their trucks on the same side as the parking suspension notices (from the post box up). It was easy because there were no cars there ...Then council arrived and said that they were parked on the wrong side - even though they were parked adjacent to the suspension notices.Film crew said that they were happy where they were and could easily run a protected cable across the road to their other vehicles parking from 2-12 Cumberland Road.Council said no ...Crucial point - the suspension said suspended on East side of the road but they put the notices on the West side of the road. There are no front doors along that part of the road - so they could not say "outside numbers X to Y" - plenty of scope for mistake.I do admit that when I saw the notice and read it I did not stop and think which side is east and which is west. The other side had plenty of street furniture to attach notices to and there were none. So I parked there.The film crew absolutely accept that the signage was on the wrong side of the road but it was not in their control.I called westlondonfilm (who organise this stuff) and they said they they could do nothing and that I should contact council parking services.I called there and was told to send in an email to dispute the charge (to a different address to that shown on their PCN page) which I did ... but have not had an acknowledgement back at end of their working day.On a positive note - thanks to Marlon M, who I think was walking back from a school run with child in push chair. He said he saw cars being moved and also the discussions about the signs being on the wrong side of the road - and he left me his phone number.
