How long for a parking appeal?

1st Feb. Received a PCN for letting my resident's parking disc slip out of easy view. 11th Feb. Hand delivered appeal to Percival House. (online appeal system not working)  Spotted a notice saying that appeals could take 30 days.28th March. Having had neither a rejection nor waiver, nor a Notice to Owner, wondering what the heck is going on. Logged in with PCN number and it's still live but still paused at the discounted stage. So presumably someone has put the appeal in the system but no decision has been taken.Could someone with any experience of appealing a PCN give me a clue how long it REALLY takes?

just under the legal maximum mostly...surprising you have had nothing - can't remember whether it is 30 days or 30 Working days - a significantly different time.I've never had them just stop from the council and have taken it all the way several times.

I don't believe there is any time limit on responding to an initial challenge.  Usually it seems that a council will proceed to issue a Notice to Owner after 28 days.  There have certainly been cases reported on the forums where Ealing have issued an NtO despite having received a challenge to the PCN and not replied to it.  For some reason this has not happened in your case.There is a time limit of 6 months (after issue of the PCN) for issuing an NtO. If they don't issue an NtO before 1st August, they won't be able to enforce payment of the penalty. (The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007, regulation 20)

OK. I'll just wait, then. I was wondering if the decision or the NtO had gone astray, but if the website is still only asking for £50 rather than the full £100, I suppose it's still paused.

they once took 3 months to reply but after 2 months sent a letter saying they received the appeal and reviewing it. Luckily ticket was cancelled and even though the logic doesnt always follows, if they didnt want to cancel it they would have written to you immediately. Good luck

I also appealed against the same stupid offence.  They took two months and a claim to the appeal service before they backed down.

"I thought they had to reply within 56 days or the ticket gets cancelled?"That's for an appeal ("representation") following receipt of a Notice to Owner.  Roy hasn't had a Notice to Owner yet. He's still at the earlier "informal challenge" stage for which there is no time limit, apart from the 6-month deadline for issuing an NtO.
