A reason to believe: Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research
Several of you were kind enough to sponsor me last year in my 52-mile London Bikeathon. This annual event raises money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research - a registered charity dedicated to researching, and hopefully curing once and for all, the truly awful disease of blood cancer. My interest? Just over a year ago - on 1 April 2010 - my 20-year-old son Jake was diagnosed with leukaemia. He still fights the disease today and is currently in Hammersmith Hospital following a bone marrow transplant on - yes, you've guessed it - 1 April 2011.The next few weeks are critical. There are 28,500 reported cases of blood cancer every year in the UK and it's the most common cause of death in young people. If you feel you can help turn the tables and give people in the future even more reason to believe, please go to http://original.justgiving.com/paulhigham2 and give whatever you can.Thank you so much guys.Paul Higham
