We in little old Acton have more sense than money which is why they've got a Chiswick estate agent selling them.  They'd be laughed off the high street with those prices for such small spaces.We also wouldn't fall for the typical estate agent exaggerations in their glossy brochure.  We all know Westfields isn't "10 minutes from Goldsmiths via tube".... unless you walk at least half an hour to North Acton tube station first. They do look lovely in the brochure though.  If I had the money to burn I probably would.

Thought I might take a look.But you can buy a four bedroom flat in West Hampstead(OK bordering Kilburn) for less than that

I bet half of Acton will be claiming to be interested in buying one just to have a nose around!The price reflects the fact that Acton is THE place to be seen these days! ;-)

Wouldn't East Acton tube be the nearest to there,  not North Acton? About a 10 min walk to East Acton tube I'd say.Well to be fair lots of flats in Acton are well over £300 and if these are houses it's freehold? And therefore worth more.  Also in a pleasent setting with a nice view all of which costs.  It is good to see some work going on there as it was getting a bid run down.What's the link to see the listing,  all curious now!

Thanks John,  also just noticed it's a story on the home page of this site!!  duhThe spiel says opposite Acton Green Park?  Where is Acton Green Park??  They are opposite Acton Park,  and Acton Green in in South Acton/Chiswick uummmm  The grounds look lovely,  the interior is computer generated but presumably will be a high spec.

No floorplans available yet though.I doubt if they are freehold but haven't checked.No drug dealers either in the park spec...odd that.

I too spotted they were using a Chiswick Agent, Acton Agents obviously not good enough or more likely the classic 'looking in Chiswick, see how much more you can get in Acton....'However, I hope it is successful, lovely setting, floor plans will be interesting as I suspect the houses will be tiny. Suspect Leasehold rather than freehold.But great shame that after so many years housing lost from charitable use, shame on the Goldsmiths Company for selling their heritage.....I wonder who their target market is? Probably older, rather than younger???

Really? I had heard that the internal stairs were precipitous - not suited to the older buyer maybe.I mentioned it to a young potential first time buyer last night and was astounded that she was put off neither by the "well over 3000,000" nore the "in Acton" but thought it was far too small. Bit pricy for first- timer and then not big enoughfor the next stage.I think Goldsmiths Company got out of all their property quite a while ago - didn't fit with what they did  they told me when I was researching covenants on the Goldsmith Estatete

Yes, Jen, I'd forgotten about East Acton tube.  However it's still a bit of a trek and not the nicest walk.Although pricey, I think they're lovely and am glad to see they've been renovated rather than being left in the sorry state they were.

A least they didn't try and pull the buildings down and rebuild with a 'hideous' modern structure - despite conservation status.

I went to look today and they are very cute - but really pretty tiny. You would have to love someone very much to share the space with them - they would need to be quite small and tidy too. And mobile. Not really suitable for a retirement home (well not for my mum anyhow)Lovely gardens and the ones facing front have little patios - at the side none at all.I was more interested in what I had heard of the chapel - which might prove to be bigger - but it hasn't been started from the look of it.The agent says going like hot cakes - but they do.

Sarah - and I don't think there are any parking facilities, so where the cars will go I can't think.  And those on the left hand side facing the road are quite dark because of the marvellous tree, although not so marvellous if you need the light on all day!

I don't think those are on the market yet - though also no garden - just the communal one.I suppose as a resident, you get K1 vouchers and park outside - there's hardly ever anyone there. Several bike racks (not that that would help mum!)

I think she is thinking that a four bedroom detached house is a bit much on her own...rather than Acton specifically. But if I could find something stunning that she loved...who knows?
