Churchfield Road/Acton Central level crossing closed

Don't know if it still is, but dad's just told me the level crossing on Churchfield Road level crossing is closed as some moron decided to drive through the barriers earlier. Reports on Twitter of "damage to the level crossing" confirm this - not been down to see for myself though. CCTV footage from the crossing should be interesting to see!

I asked the police who said this car had driven straight through the lowered gates ripping them apart. Fully repaired in a couple of hours though which I thought quite good going.Apparently the car was identified - though I bet it was twoccers - why would you do that to/in your own car? Didn't think to ask though.

What's a twoccer?! Word has it that the car/van crashed through the barriers and the bloke driving ran off so suggests something wasn't quite right.

Last night I stopped as the barrier was about to come down,  lights flashing,  had started to descend and a car behind me flew over the crossing just making it!!!

What used to be called joy-riders till that was deemed inappropraitely cheerful. Generally just drive around for a bit - too fast and of course uninsured - before dumping "borrowed" car wherever.
