South Acton Most Improved Recycling Ward

Perhaps now South Acton have been allocated twenty thousand pounds this money could be well spent on cleaning the rubbish up in the local recreation parks especially the Avenue rd park and south acton recreation ground. Take a stroll any time of the week around these area's you will be shocked especially around the perimeter, the rubbish has not been picked up for four years to date . If this cannot be done perhaps they  could consider finishing the play area they seemed to of left half finished. The swings have not been replaced for eight monthsno where to go no where to play.

Ricardo, If the rubbish is on the street, or on Council owned land, then to get it cleared, report it to the environment department of the council. Be sure to get a job reference - it makes chasing them up when it's not done a lot easier!Look on the Ealing Council website.

well they need  to  get  glasses the amount of rubbish all  round  is terrible  the  parks  etc  we  are  still waiting  to  get  the  security mirror  fixed  going  over  church path  bridge on  the  rec  5 weeks now

Jon, my tactic when the council take too long to do something, is to e-mail them daily with the job reference number, asking when it will be done. In desperation I have, in the past, e-mailed the leader of the council, and my councillors to get a result. Unfortunately sometimes continued pressure is needed - especially when no-one seems to know which department should be dealing with it.

I've been away and now find that this initiative is over.Congratulations to South Acton!I guess more people will have found out how easy it is to recycle once they know what recycling facilities the Council provide.Don't forget though that it is not just the Council who offers recycling facilities. Many supermarkets do too.We have been hearing a lot about recycling but the waste hierarchy is REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE and don't forget REPAIR if you can.
