3Spices -- gone!!

Heartbreaking news that 3 Spices on Churchfield Road is gone.  I always thought it was great Indian food and had some great meals from there but, as is the case these days, I haven't been there for a while, so feel doubly badly.  So sad to see it go.

No info -- just a notice that the premises had been siezed on Tuesday, so it all looks rather sudden and tragic.

That's a shame, I used it as a take away on a regular basis and occasionally to eat in.....Will have to try Bombay Spice now......

Do you mean Bombay Bistro in the High Street? It's jolly good and some similarity to the intersting things 3 Spice did when it opened but hadn't done for some time now.

I can't let this news go by without marking the demise of one of the best curry restaurants I know. Even though I've been lucky enough to taste curry from Birmingham to Delhi, there was very little that in my view was better than 3Spice when it was on song. Since it opened we've been eating and having take aways there at least twice a month. We're going to miss it terribly. I hope the owners and staff find a new opportunity.

you should try to BOMBAY BISTRO in high street . they are serving real indian food you will not be disappointed .

I must have missed something at 3 spice was not that impressed on the 3 or 4 times we eat there but really enjoy food from the Bombay Bistro on the High Street. Great Indian with a twist.  Just finished our weekly take away from there.

Holy sh*t, I'm in shock. We've been regulars since we moved here two and half years ago. 3Spice was delicious. What a shame. I still remember chatting to the bloke who used to deliver our food in late 2008 - and he talked about how quiet it had gone. Guess it got to them in the end. I always wanted to help with some kind of 'support your local restaurant' campaign. I wish I had.

So I looked at hungryhouse and the 3Spice menu was still up. Emailed them and they emailed me back, saying they'd called 3Spice, whose manager said they were very much open. Ordered.Ate. So why the '3Spice has closed down' story? Bizarre.

because there is a notice - or was a few days ago - on its shutters = saying the bailiffs had been in.maybe it was a temporary blip and they have paid whatever bill it was

They hadn'tI walked past on Wednesday and it was shuttered down with a notice from the bailiffs on the shutters.

Maybe they just lost their premises and are still operating from somewhere else?  Haven't tried Bombay Bistro yet, but the times I've eaten 3 Spice food, I've rated it as the best Indian food I've had.
