Rights to select a hospital of own choice

I thought the Labour party gave us this incomparable right which for so long the public had been clamouring for.See NHS websitehttp://www.nhs.uk/choiceintheNHS/Rightsandpledges/NHSConstitution/Pages/Yourrightstochoice.aspxSo could someone explain why Angie Bray MP on her website is asking you to vote on just one NHS question - namely"Do you think that the Government's health reforms will benefit patients by allowing them greater freedom to choose which hospital to go to, to receive treatment?"Am I missing something?If AB had asked if we want a return to the old nursing standards, then that really would have been worth voting on.She should work on a night general ward for a month.

I don't want to select a hospital for treatment - i merely want all the ones near me to be good.

Hear hear!I feel a bit mad sometimes thinking I don't want "choice"... Having to shop around for hospitals/energy suppliers/train tickets etc. etc. is just more STRESSFUL!  And parents with school-age children! How do you cope?  Less choice please, more services that work, and at a fair price (if applicable).

Pigs might fly.Ealing Hospital is not in debt so i am told, but it can't get funding because the money goes to the Hammersmith.And because of this many do want choice.
