Fire in Shakespeare Road today

I'm searching for an update on the house fire in Shakespeare Road today, around 5.15pm.  I passed there as it was just getting hold and half an hour later I passed again and 3 fire engines were there.  Any news?  I do hope the house was empty.  The windows were open upstairs and the neighbours were just coming out of their homes and banging like mad on the door to alert anyone inside.

Was it the actual house on fire? Hubby works just down from the house concerned and seemed to think it was a bonfire that got out of control thereby catching a tree on fire in the rear garden.He said 2 fire engines were in attendance pumping water from the mains and an investigation type vehicle was also on the scene.The air was filled with a white 'paper' like dust. He likened it to dandruff  which covered the shirt of one of our customers. A passer by said the flames could be seen from the Uxbridge Road.That's all i know........

That sounds like the fire.  I'm so relieved to hear it was a bonfire, not the house.  Yes, the air was filled with white paper like dust.Thanks.

It was the garden shed at the bottom of their garden, when we got home last night it had been put out but it kept relighting again in some bushes on our side (Woodhurst) I tried to reach it with our hosepipe to put the last bit out but couldn't reach, however someone who lives there managed to climb over and pour water on it and put it out, She said that the fire brigade said it might have been a cigarette.
