CPZ K

Have I missed something?  The last few years the cost of this has been negligible,  a sum I hardly missed I think about £45.00,  it still irritated that I had to pay it mind.Well I have just renewed on line my CPZ residents permit and got a book of 3 hour visitors vouchers to the tune of £82.50.  I would love to know WHY the cost has doubled. How can it possibly be justified?  HOW???  Money making scam for the Council!

Jen, the charges went up from 1st January 2011. There was a thread complaining about the increases last year! The cost of CPZ parking is ridiculous, especially in roads that are not affected by commuter parking etc, hence the campaign to get CPZ K to be in line with CPZ K1 - to reduce the hours and the cost. Still awaiting the outcome of that consultation....

The consultation decision seems slow because K goes into four wards so all councillors have apparently to approve...but it's mostly in Acton Central so I would suggest coming along to the ward forum on the 22nd and making your views known.In the draft I have seen, all but a couple of the roads north of Churchfield plus those just over the bridge voted for shorter hours, those already K1 and shorter voted (overwhelmingly) to stay that way.The question becomes which ones the councillors then decide join K1 based on the consultation.

To my mind changing the times i.e. from K to K1, is a different issue.  There is no justifiable reason as far as I can see for the hike in the price this year.  Must have been oblivious to the earlier posts on the thread! Oh well paid up now just gotta let it go.......

K1 is charged less because of the shorter hours - pretty minimal but might make a difference over time if you have lots of visitors - either arrange for them to come at non-restricted hours or only need a shorter (and cheaper) ticket.

Yes I understand why K1 is charged less.  I don't understand why K has doubled.

Because they fixed the council tax and crowed about "same as last year" but had to find money somewhere else.  It's just a way of getting revenue in the back door!

Exactly just a money making scam!! I cannot believe people vote FOR CPZ.
