Acacia Road in Zone MM

Can anyone clarify to me why Acacia Road is in new parking Zone MM (the guys came to put the signage up today) and not included in K1? This means should we have difficulty parking on Acacia Road, we will have to either drive down Horn Lane and up to Grafton Road (which is  a nightmare at the best of times) or drive down Cumberland park, around Shakespeare Road and up Goldsmiths to get to Grafton. If I were resident on Grafton Rd I would fine this very annoying.

My guess - MM will be allowed to park in K1 (and maybe K) but not vice-versa - like K1 and K (at least that is how I remember it but not obvious from Ealing Council site)

Just had a quick search through old forum posts - and I see the zone K people can (could?) park in K1.So maybe MM will be same - everyone able to park everywhere but perhaps MM has different hours/price to the adjacent K1.

K and K1 can certainly park wholly interchangeably - but why would this apply to MM? It doesn't to any other neighbouring CPZs (though it would be lovely if it did of course)

The Traffic Order now seems to have been over-ridden as the roads listed to the west of Horn Lane are (supposedly) not to be included in the new CPZ. The original decision to create this CPZ (in February 2010) put Acacia Rd and Nemoure Rd into Zone K1.Acton Central ward forum on Wednesday - perhaps the councillors can explain this.

Cllr Abdullah Gulaid confirmed to me on Sunday that the roads west of Horn Lane were not in it but not why.The chap in charge of CPZ consultations is coming to the ward forum on Wednesday apparently - mostly to discuss implementation of the changes to K/K1 - so you can get answers direct from him then

At the ward meeting this evening I managed to discuss this (Acacia Road in zone MM) with the Ealing CPZ officer (Anthony).He said that from his memory Acacia should be in K1 - but he would get it checked tomorrow.So - on the way home I went to Acacia Road to have a look at the signs. I checked 5 of them (under their black plastic covering) around the top of Maldon Road ... and they all showed "K1" not "MM".So - question back to the original starter of this thread ... where did you see "MM" marked?

On Monday night my son saw the signs in Nemoure Road, which said MM - I do not know about Acacia Road, so the original starter of the thread isn't the only one to see the MM signs!

Faraday Road will come under MM we noticed them putting the signs up this week!

I have just checked almost all of the (covered up) signs on Acacia Road and Nemoure Road ... and all of the ones that I looked at were marked "K1" not "MM".i.e. matching the announcement in London Gazette.The Horn Lane area between those 2 streets is not marked up for CPZ as we know, from other discussions, council has decided not to do that part of the scheme (for now at least).

I walked along both roads this Monday, and Nemoure Rd was definately MM. I counted about 10 signs with the MM markings in the top corner and the timings underneath. I thought that Nemoure was a different zone because it didn't link in to the K/K1 zones. Also seams silly to me (after looking at Zone K/K1 map on Ealing website) that Nemoure would be K1 as it is well away from the rest of K1. I will look again this evening on way home from work.

Well, my son has just checked, and Ealing Council have changed the signs so they now say K1 for Nemoure Road. Someone obviously put the wrong signs up! I also notice they have been around 'burning off' the second white line that marked the boundaries of resident's parking bays, after it was pointed out that it should be a single white line, not a double white line. I believe someone was contesting parking tickets on the grounds of the resident's bays being wrongly marked!

Friary Road signs went up today.  We are zone MM which is permits only between 10.00-11.00am and 4.00-5.00pm.

So to clarify, the areas are as published in the London Gazette, the OP was mistaken, we can all breathe easy again.

Caroline (the OP) wasn't mistaken, the signs DID say MM, she wasn't the only one to see them - the council workers obviously put up the wrong signs!

I agree... Grafton Rd should be one-way, this would then resolve the stand-offs and other problems on the road.  As usual the council are not listening.  We pay their wages through council tax and any other devious methods thay can come up with.  As to the CPZ zone K1 ext and zone MM, where was the consultation from this Labour council etc?  My understanding of the last consultation was under the Tories and was too close to call and did not go ahead.  This has come in through the back door...DEVIOUS to say the least.
