Since the storm the other day, we've not been able to get any internet at all, despite trying the usual fixes. Is anybody else in the area having this problem?Emily (posting from work!)

It is often the modem that suffers any damage. I was told that the old red phone boxes were notorious for being struck, and the only visible sign of damage was often a pair of holes where lightning had jumped past the single turn of excess cable just above the ground, but the cable itself was destroyed.

Looks like you were right...modem, adsl cable and splitter replaced. Ha! I thought that lightning looked close...
