Hi, surely Yoga is Hindu origin. But so as other activities such as Tai-chi, Qi-gong, Judo - they are originated from different culture, faith and philosophy. Important point is, they are all now well integrated in different cultures in so many countries. Somebody mentioned about Croatia, but even interpretation of bible is depends on which church (or sects) you are belong to. And people gain immensely benefits from it. I asked Church why it is unacceptable, then he came back to me with very lengthy explanation how Yoga and Christianity’s philosophies are different, thus Yoga is not acceptable. And I don’t think his view represent the rest of Christian church – because other churches in the past, were happy to let me use their hall (as they wish to get their hall more used for community and gaining small income from it.)Well, I feel really sad – because this person has focused only “differences” , not “similarities” of two of them – such as recognising importance of humanity, developing compassion to the self and others regardless cultural and religious differences. And most of all, my class is designed for improving people’s health and well-being regardless their background. His attitude of differentiation - “us” and “them” doesn’t help us to get together, and seem to be completely miss-matched with diverse and liberal city like Acton, London. (maybe somewhere within bible belt in US),
