Local library to move to new Town Hall...... 

......just in case you missed this..... taken from South Acton Councillors' Report 'It was a boisterous and long night, but came up with the right conclusion. The council still has many cuts to find, but we remain focused on supporting the local community as much as possible within these constraints................although the good news for Acton is that the local library will move to the new Town Hall as part of the regeneration project, but more on that later.'

As this now appears to be in tablets of stone, unless there is a change of administration, can you remind us what is planned for the Library?  Is demolition about to take place perhaps?

No it's listed so won't be demolished but will become a Nando's or some such...Library moves to the town hall itself - main hall and is supplemented by a suspended mezzanine.Well, that was the plan but who knows what it's changed to now..probably half a book stack and some DVDs in the basement somewhere, given the current level of sticking to what we were told earlier.

How about following Chiswick into wall-to-wall phone shops?Would Acton have then arrived?

Sorry when did this happen?I am strongly against the library being moved and being changed to a restaurant/bar.We only just got the results of the consultation document.

The new design for the library did look fab - but has probably been replaced by some condominiums and a penthouse by now

Went to the latest exhibition of plans yesterday: library still there and seems to be a good size - it's pretty well the space currently occupied by the assembly rooms, so quite large and double height.

it's good that the library is staying even if in a new venue!nandos sounds good, about time there were more restauurants to smarten up the high street.

Sara,  I would be delighted if Acton High Street in any way shape or form resembled Chiswick High Rd!!
