New cafe in North Acton Playing fields

The pavilion by the old bowling green now houses a Spencer's Cafe (there's also one in Walpole Park). It serves sandwiches, hot food, hot and cold drinks, ice cream & sweets. Wifi's comming soon. And the council has even put in a couple of bins to go with the landscaping and picnic tables outside. That sounds great! I will check it out ASAP! And open weekends too - lovely. I love a cafe in a park... always such a shame I miss out on Acton Park Cafe as it's not open until 11am, and then closed (4pm I believe) by the time I pick up my son from nursery. Gabriella does a brilliant cheese and tomato omelette though.

Coincidentally had a croissant and coffee there this morning following visit to Cloister Road Clinic. Sat on the porch until it started to rain - it's really pleasant.

We had coffee and bacon sandwiches there on Saturday waiting for rain to stop so we could continue tennis. Whiled away nearly two hours playing quizzes before giving up on the tennis and going home. Good fruit juice and cake choice, too. Hope this brings Jay's Whataracket tennis drop-in more business - he's been doggedly running it for over ten years.
