Acton's top Chinese

According to the front page, it seems Acton's top chinese is the Blue Star! I always thought it was the North China.

Never tried Blue Star but this does sound interesting.  Love that one of the owner's names is Ruby Fu - wonder if she is aware of the famous Ruby Foo's in NYC?!North China has been a favourite for years - I'm a Menu C lover.  But I'm sure there is room for one more.

Is that the restaurant in the hotel on the corner of Horn Lane?It's a very strange article, it reads like a paid-for advertisement.I'd definitely say North China is Acton's top chinese too.

Reads like a written up press release - certainly not as if anyone had actually gone and critiqued it - and given we don't have an editor at the moment, can't quite see who would have done.This place used to have a dreadful reputation so I hope the new guys make a go of it.But North China - no question - is Acton's - indeed West London's - top Chinese restaurant.

Another vote for the North China! One wonders if you have to book well in advance to get a Saturday night table in the Blue Star?

Just had a lovely meal at North China. Absolutely packed too - midweek in late July. Even Laurence was surprised.

We were opposite you Sara - we went to Thai Nice. Lovely food and staff. We are looking forward to going to their 10th anniversary party next month. How lucky to have such wonderful  restaurants in Acton.

If you scroll right down to the bottom of the page, after about 5 blank lines after the date it says  +Advertisement+.  It looks like a deliberate attempt to fool readers into thinking it isn't an ad, as most won't scroll right down beyond the date.

golly, that's a bit slimy.Advertorials corrupt real journalism and undermine trust 9if there was any in the first place0 often a sign of desperation!

I had blue star a few weeks ago and it was fab! I agree its 100% amazing. I'm ordering again tonight to see if the quality is still there :) I've never tried north china...

North China takes some beating for food, ambience and service. I have been going there for well over 15 years......It's the tops !!Which reminds me.....Must book my table for New Years Eve. (Yes, you have to book early)

The strapline/statement "Acton's top Chinese" was this written by the owner or by a journalist/editor?  Neither should have been allowed as surely the comment is subjective.Editor please can you remove this statement.
