We have been saying for years - no discipline in the home. no discipline in the schools, the law can't touch them so they are free to do exactly what they want!Punishment of any sort has been banned for some time, boundries have gone out of the window, parents afrsid of their children in case they are sued. How ridiculous!Can you imagine a mother having to take out an ASBO on her son? Yes it happens!Perhaps it is time for parenting classes if they are unable or unwilling to control their children. How often have we seen yungsters running amok in shops and restaurants whilst doting but sometimes exasperated parent looks on? If bystanders say something the parent often takes the child's side!If teachers do try to enforce acceptable behaviour parents have been known to attack the teacher! Their little darlings should be able to do as they please.This has been going on now for far too long. Where are the parents when their offfspring are outside causing mayhem at 2am?In my youth we would never have dared act in this way. One could be caned by the headmaster, but more often than not this was enough to prevent unacceptable behaviour.Sadly I cannot see anything like law and order returning to our streets anytime soon, but when any mention is made of getting the youth involved in any scheme such as National Service, oh dear there is an outcry!Where will it all end?
