Why Richard Mannington Bowes is a TRUE hero . . . .A true hero doesn't have friends posting their deeds and the name of their shop on at least two local forums. I first mentioned Richard Mannington Bowes on another forum, while he was still in intensive care, fighting for life. He's not a friend of mine, I don't know him at all. I didn't mention the name of his business, I don't believe he even had a business.I mentioned Richard Mannington Bowes in recognition of a TRUE hero, in hospital, a pensioner taking on thugs, but beaten unconscious, I mentioned him to give someone on another forum user a sense of perspective. Mr Bowes died the next day. Many of us have been victims of crime, prevented crimes, apprehended criminals or informed police about them. That's NOT heroic, it's just the right thing to do.A lot of businesses and homes got completely burnt to the ground across London over the last few days, so there's always someone in a worse state, or more worthy of heroic status than you.True heroes tend to be very modest, and their true friends respect that.
