Resurfacing our road

The letter from the council says the resurfacing will start in week three but this is week two.At about 6pm tonight signs have gone up on the lampposts saying parking is suspended   tomorrow the 24th (can you do that in a CPZ free zone). Cones have been placed between the parked cars and one or two cars have notices on them, saying that they will be removed if still there tomorrow.How thoughtless can this council get. I for one usually never look outside between mid afternoon and 10 the next morning. How many others are going to do the same and find that there car has been removed.

I don't know what to say.  This council seems to do what it wants.  Even a K1 sign in the middle of zone MM.  Crazy?Still no reply from J.B. or Buffoon to my e-mail yesterday, that I had to resend.

Never seen Essex Rd so empty!Did the vehicle removal unit have fun? I do hope it was the commuters that were removed.How much does it cost to get the car out of the pound?

About 12 cars removed one was my neighbor who goes to work in the dark and didn't see the signs. I knew some people wouldn't see the them they only went up 6pm the night before, disgraceful really. The letter we had a few weeks ago said it would happen next week not this week. Had to park in the CPZ last night, no spaces this side anywhere close to home.Got home to find the road gangs had burst a water main, so no water. Just as well they hadn't finished the new road surface.The road roller they use is quite frightening it shakes our building, frightenes the dog and me actually. These are old houses what if a chimney crashes down?

Ridiculous.  Where did they remove your neighbours car to?  Did he have to pay to get it out of the pound?  If so you should claim the money back from the council.Regardless I would write a letter to them enclosing the letter they sent you and photographs (dated) of the road being resurfaced before they said it would be.  Wonder what excuses you'd get back.

No they don't have to pay to get their cars back, But they don't know where they are until they phone the council. There are going to be some confused car owners when they get back from their holidays
