Interesting Guardian piece; final resolution comes on p.4 of the readers' comments where one of them quotes the official response received from Tesco, and the journalist, Patrick Collinson, adds a postscript. Of course, it turns out to be a mistake and not 'company policy'... But as Collinson points out, it wasn't just a junior member of staff, whose actions could be dismissed as ignorant, but more senior managers. Stand up to them, folks!
