Acton Central Ward Forum on 5 October 2011

Very few people know about this meeting on Wednesday.The previous forum was advertised by leaflet drop but, not this time.People have given their e-mail addresses so that they can be notified, again this has not happened. Me too - I think a quick scan of the various relevant postings on this site give an answer.The general lack of replies/ripostes speaks volumes IMHO.

Re: one-wayThe route would be from the junction of Messaline, down Grafton to Horn Ln.  It was brought up that the barrier at Acacia should be removed to allow access and, also obstructions around Shakespeare/Goldsmiths be removed.Not sure if a petition or opinion was used to do the one-way system but, other aspects have to be looked at and, then out to I think consultation.  Can't remember how much it would cost.  When I asked, the reply was, all the legal procedures.

Nicola, when you say obstructions - do you mean the width reducers - put there to stop large vehicles rat running?

Yup, as far as I know.  It still has to be investigated.I think the cost of putting in the one-way part on Grafton will cost £25,000.  Also I think there was some talk of taking some monies from the ward account (or something like it,)to pay for it, if it ever comes off.

The funds discussed last night for this was 10 k total with 5 k comming from the ward funds the rest comming from the councils funds. All providing those in the area agree with the scheme.
