Spam from Neighbournet

I have just received a spam message from their Putney site claiming that I had registered for this site. This is a bit difficult as I neither know about it nor have any interest to register.There is no unsubscribe link and says that you can login and deregister. How when I am not registered? I assume that they emailed anyone listed for other sites such as this one.Has anyone else received this spam or maybe blocked by spam filters or sitting in Junk Mail folder?

I had 4 of them from 07:21 - 07:24 today and I am not registered on that site either.

I've got one, too. Never even looked at the Putney site.I've checked the links in the email and they all lead to Neighbournet, so it seems as though the spamming is coming from them rather than an outside source (where the links read one thing, but the real destination is quite different).

E-mailed Neighbournet about the Putney messages.Had the following response...."Apologies – mail was meant to go just to the Putney membership but some idiot (me) pressed the wrong button."Perhaps they could put a general apology on this forum!

I did ask if they could put a general apology on the forum, as some people had multiple e-mails.Neighbournet responded:-"Unfortunately the e-mail went to all site members not registered for the newsletter not just W3 and a user would get multiple e-mails if they were registered on multiple sites. Posting on the forum would only reach a small proportion of those that it was sent to.We are considering sending out another e-mail but sending people an e-mail apologising for sending them an e-mail seems a bit self-defeating."So, I guess I pass on their apologies to those of you who read the forum - not that I had anything to do with it!

"a user would get multiple e-mails if they were registered on multiple sites"... unless of course they filtered the combined address list to eliminate duplicates, but I guess that simple task is beyond their technical skills.  I had 7 copies, which is probably the number of forums that I'm registered on.
