New planning application submitted for 89-91 Shakespeare Road

If you read the 'Design and Access Statement' you will see how the developer believes they have addressed the two areas of concern that led the inspector to dismiss the appeal. They have reduced the number of flats from 3 to 2, omitted a rear extension and moved the location of the stacker further to the rear, allowing space for a car to park inside the gates whilst the stacker operates.All looks good to me and will provide 5 much needed additional quality homes. I do have doubts about stacker maintenance and would advise purchasers to ensure the developer provides long term guarantees as well as well designed noise/vibration mitigation.........

Well thats a surprise, must read the committee report. Ellie now you are no longer there what would you wish to be done with the site? Conversions are not popular with developers for such sites and in this case would reduce the value by a lot I suspect......

Iain. My biggest wish and I have suggested this to our local councillors would be to convert/renovate this property into a nursery annexe for Derwentwater school.which of course would mean a compulsory purchase order being made on the property.Contrary to what some people think, the house is ripe for conversion. It's not delapidated or falling down. Sadly the previous owners, Ealing & Acton Conservatives, let the property fall into disrepair through lack of maintenance and or care. It can be saved !!

Was the whole thing refused Ellie?I know at least some councillors want to convert into a school...seems a sensible option given Derwentwater is so cramped now.

Oh yes - it says refused but gives no details, I wonder what the rationale was...I know the transport department opposed the stacker.

here`s a thought then Ellie why not compulsory purchase ALL the houses around Shakespeare Road, and either convert them into a very large nursery annex or knock them down and build a large, brand new whistles and bells school to cater for the needs of the wider community ....or better yet all the householders could give their property to the community so the community can use it as the majority want it to be used

ha ha ...no not me I think it would be very charitable of all the home owners in the road to "accept" the compulsory purchase of their properties for the good of the wider community, surely thats what is being suggested for the "developer"
