What is wrong with the search option here

Whatever name I search for in the forum search it only finds items up to about 2009Please Neighbourhood net explain what is wrong or better fix it.

I think a search only returns the first 100 posts under the search category (or some other arbitary reason)

As Bob says where are all those pearls of wisdom he has posted over the years.I think they've all disappeared for good.. sadly. All the messages posted on the various forums in the "Group" had been numbered from ..let's say 30 (10 years ago)to 748,719 ( on Chiswick Forum tonight).Some five years back we were able to find out who posted message No. 100,000 No.200,000 No.300,000 and so on using the url:eg.http://nnet-server.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=100,000 So if you post the following in the address bar:http://nnet-server.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=700,000 you should be directed to that message.Some 3-4 years ago, I believe the NN bosses decided to archive away a whole mass of old messages and threads...to increase website space. and the SEARCH BOX became very limited.I recall that the first ever messages were on the Chiswick Forum back in years 2000/2001/2002 with names like Paul Allen ..who still posts.Yes, it's sad when one's old gems have gone for good perhaps ..especially when one hasn't bothered to print off a copy.

"Some five years back we were able to find out who posted message No. 100,000 No.200,000 No.300,000 and so on using the url:eg.http://nnet-server.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=100,000"True, though without the comma in the message number.  The format of the URL has changed since then, but it's still possible to see those old messages, back to 2004 at any rate.  For example, no. 100,000 was one of yours Jim:http://www.actonw3.com/default.asp?section=community&link=http://appasp.actonw3.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=100000Note that although you'll get the ActonW3 heading, the message itself might be from another forum.  They are all held on the same database.

But If I search. my. name my old messages do show up it's the new ones that don't ie everything up to 2008/9 is there but nothing since

Thanks for that new URL Richard...If one checks, for example:http://www.actonw3.com/default.asp?section=community&link=http://appasp.actonw3.com/server/app/forum/ShowMessage.asp?ID=008801..it produces a blank. Now I'm sure some years back a message would have been shown for 8801. Indeed I recall low numbers liked 000085 showing an early posting.
