Opinions on Acton Nurseries

I'm looking at Nurseries for my son and was wondering if people might have any current opinions on the following:Monkey Puzzle Nursery (Acton Lane)Cybertots (Avenue Road)Bright Eyes Montessori (Acton Hill)any others you'd recommend?cheers,Rupert

Hi,I'm afraid I don't know anything about the one's you've mentioned but I'd highly recommend The Ark Montessori on Bollo Bridge Rd. My youngest had a fabulous time there Sylwia and Tessa are superb, its a very happy place and its very good at preparing little ones for school. My daughter is in Year 1 now and still talks about The Ark and how much she loved it. Hope that helps and good luck!

Rupert, my advice is go and see them all, talk to the staff and get a feel for them. No one knows your child better than you and you will find that you will instictively know whether a place is right or wrong for him. Recommendations are great, take them into consideration, but go with your gut and you wont go wrong.

Hi, my son goes to Little Footsteps nursery at Acton Hill Church Centre (opposite the redback). The staff are wonderful and he really seems to enjoy it there. The previous poster is right, only you will know whether a nursery is right for your child. I visited Monkey Puzzle and Montessori that you mentioned but felt they weren't quite right for us but that doesn't mean they won't be right for you. Also, cybertots only takes children from 2 years old and as my son started nursery at 1 year old we couldn't even take it into consideration. There are so many factors to take into account and I'm sure your child will flourish wherever you choose.

Have you looked at the wonderful Maples nursery at Acton Park. It is a state nursery run by the marvelous Mia and her team, many of whom were there when my oldest (now yr 8) went there. The dedication, the cuddles, the creativity, the annual summer party cannot be equalled in many Acton parent's books. They do morning, afternoon and wholeday sessions and are very popular. Get your son's name down a.s.a.p.!

Yes I heard Maples is good and is right on my way to work, the only thing with them is they only take children from 2 years old and they don't to part-time sessions.

Maples do take part-time placements but it is 5 days per week (mornings or afternoons) and term time only.  Great place though.  My daughter loves it there.  She went to Carousel previously and it was very good for her, small and nurturing.  The staff there are attentive.  Now she's coming up to 4 she needs something a bit bigger I feel, hence we moved her.  She's loving Maples although she still talks fondly of Carousel.
