Wood Burning Stove

I'm in the process of having a wood burning stove fitted.  It's a small one (4kw) and won't be the main source of heat in the room - it's for occasional use on really cold days.The builder who is fitting it says we don't need the chimney lined and the chimney sweep who cleaned and tested the chimney says the same thing - the draw is very good.However the stove manufacturers (who also sell a fitting service!) are strongly recommending it as they say it improves efficiency.Anyone have any independent expertise in this area?  The stove I am looking at is a Chesney Hampstead.Thanks for any advice.  Anna

You would be wise to have wood pellet stove fitted, environmentally friendly and you do not need to have it fitted to a chimney.Check out:  http://www.harmanstoves.comYou can run central heating and a hot water system off one of these.    And you don't get any mess or dust.

The wood pellet stoves are the most environmentally friendly and cheapest to run you can buy - but they are more expensive.  French residents receive a tax reduction to install one.  Wood pellets are made from waste wood.  They are clean to handle and cheap to purchase.Now why doesn't our Government do the same?
