Bit closer to home, the 'pond' at the bottom (high st) side of Acton Park has an overflow bit to it which is always completely full of frogs' (I assume) spawn in the Spring. It's fenced off, but I've seen people in there and can't imagine anyone would mind if you took some. I've never seen any frogs, though - only the spawn so it would be interesting if you managed to hatch some in your garden.
