Drama over......I hope. Apologies for the panic and the bad typing. I typed my post in the middle of the street trying to keep an eye on said dog. After several near-misses with cars (mine included) and being approached but running away from us, we discovered he belonged to the people whose bins he'd been scavenging from. I approached them to give them a peace of my mind, being highly stressed for the dog. They tried to ignore me and speak to the man behind me, but I wasn't having it. They then said, after many attempts to ask them for an answer, that the dog had got through the side gate, which to my eye looked almost dilapidated - no use to keep a dog in.I shall trot by later to see if any attempt at boarding the side gate and making it secure has happened.Lovely dog. Shame they can't choose their owners.
