207 Bus Experience

5pm at Shepherds Bush Market heading towards Acton. New double decker bus arrives. Lots of people standing near the front entrance so difficult to board. I manage to push through the crowd as the door shuts leaving several people unable to get on. On the cctv monitor I spot there are lots of seats vacant upstairs so head up there. All it needed was for the driver to tell people to 'move along the bus' and that there are probably seats upstairs. But he remains silent. It was the same with the original bendy experiment when you could only enter at the front and everyone stood at the front leaving the rest of the bus empty. Why do bus drivers not speak up and actively manage passengers! Rant over, I still miss the bendies.......

Bus drivers have at their disposal a variety of automated announcements if they are too shy to speak up

No doubt now that people have to pay to use the 207's, the drivers have more work to do and don't much like that.

I travelled on the new 207 bus today for the first time and I was very impressed with the general appearance, confort and frequency of this service. Let's hope this continues.

Only seen one so far, in the Broadway with its hazards on, presumably broken down.
