My stereo is broken where shall I get ot fixed?

There are two places I often see mentioned - one in Devonshire Road Chiswick and the other in Acton.

Just had a look on the Chiswick site and you can find them under a thread entitled DVD Repair. I think it was Euro Electronics in Devonshire Road and Fuselodge in Acton Lane.  Good luck.

I believe there is also a company Mosaic Audio Visual in Greenview Close  W3.Always ask if they have any ideas where you can get something fixed when you contact these companies - if they can't help you -  as they are likely to have contacts in the same field.Try not to be put off with the negativity you can encounter as we'll never get out of this completely consumerist chuckaway society if we take too much notice of it.

Philipa,  thanks again for the pointer to Euro Electrics left my stereo in yesterday and collected today £40 and all working,  touch wood it stays that way!  Saved me the ordeal of a jaunt to John Lewis and getting to grips with the latest technology!!

JenWhy go all the way to Oxford St when you can use www.johnlewis.com    or type john lewis in your search bar and, then go to the online site.  I have just used them for the umpteenth time, (Lancome products) and, always found them helpful. Recommend a Bose Wave with DAB modual, but expensive.

Pleased you succeeded.  I do find it a pain having to get the glasses out and peer at yet another new set of instructions. It seems to take ages nowadays just to find the right language!

Och well it lasted a month!!!  He did say that it's guaranteed for 3 months but frankly if broken again I need to consign it to stereo heaven,  I did my best to repair.  Urgh now the ordeal of selecting a replacement!!

JenIf you don't want a cassette player, please do have a look at the Bose Wave with DAB module.  It is very easy to set up, in fact it is more or less automatic.. You can also get a 30 day trial, money back if not satisfied.www.bose.co.uk

Thanks Nicola,  I do have cassettes but never listen to them,  but there is a difference between never listening and not being able to listen because I don't have the equipment!Had a look online at Bose and they do look streamlined which is favourable to my bulky HiFi system,  I suspect I will dither on this one!

Shame.  You could take advantage of returning it within the three months while you do you research and make your decisions about the next one - or another type of music playing system.At least you can find lots of spare bits and pieces on the internet now.  I remember my in-laws taking their microwave to 'the dump' when the light inside stopped working. Recycling is an end of life process. It is a shame people are dumping vacuum cleaners because they can't buy bags for them in the local shop any more - there are so many types of these cleaners now.
