Missing Cairn Terrier

I am posting this on behalf of my mother.Her Cairn terrier managed to escape out the front gate of our house earlier today when my mother was putting the trash out.The dog was last seen running down Temple road and then down Weston Road (Thats pretty close to South Acton Rail Station).Arwen (that's the dog's name) is very friendly to other people and other animals.Her regular walks are around the Cunnington Street area and Chiswick Tube station area as well as around Acton Green (where the 94 bus terminal is) so she might be in that area, or she might have taken a detour and be around the SouthFields / Acton area right now? I'm not too sure.She looks a little lighter than 'Toto' the dog on the wizard of oz.She has a black collar on and was recently groomed, so she looks quite tidy.If anyone has seen her, taken her in, or has any ideas of locating her, please please please respond! That dog means the world to my mother, and so she is quite devastated right now.

Do check with the police in case someone has handed her in.The police, in turn, will hand any lost dog over to Battersea if it is not reunited with its owner.

Phone local vets, if your Mums dog is microchipped it should be easily traced. Good luck

Thanks to all on Acton W3 and Chiswick W4 forum sites!! Arwen was found and reclaimed by my mother earlier today.Thanks to whomever found/reported her on Acton Green and dropped her off at the Hounslow Animal Control.And also, thanks to Tony Bull for contacting me on here and Samantha Pitts (both from Hounslow Animal Control) your prompt and courteous emails were greatly appreciated! As an FYI (from my direct experience these past few hours) when a pet goes missing it is also best to call the local and surrounding councils (in Hounslow and Ealing and others etc) as they have dog wardens and pounds where they hold dogs that need to be reclaimed. So if you have a missing pet, it is important to contact them as well as the standard other contacts- such as the RSPCA, Police and local vets (and emergency vets).Arwen was dropped off at Hounslow Animal Control, however there is an Ealing one as well...so for all the people out there with missing pets...never give up..keep calling your dog/cat is out there!
