goodbye to an Acton resident.
Acton is full of wonderful people but to all who knew her by name or by face, Mary Haswell was very special. She lived for decades in Shalimar lodge on the corner of Shalimar gds and Horn lane and her two boys went to local schools. In recent months we would see her bravely going on her walks to Springfield gardens and around the ajoining streets with her oxygen tank attached to a trolley which she would push around. Mary was a fantastic listener, she had time for people. She was wise, she was kind, she was interesting, she was funny. I read about her passing today in the Acton/ Ealing gazette. She will be missed by all who knew her and I thank you Mary for enriching our lives.
