Sure there has been a thread on this before but we need somewhere nice for a casual light lunch today (oops!) easy walking distance from Crown St. Any suggestions?

Pinto Thai under the nasty old car park thing near the bingo do a fab quick lunch menu, starter and main for something crazy like £4,95, great little place and lovely food.

I second Pinto's. I also tried the French Restaurant yesterday and i think it's extremely good value but was sadly empty.

I'm doing the Rocket with a friend today...probably a starter and vegetables - doesn't work out very expensive and reliably good.

Bit late, Gillian, but for the future, one of my favourite places is Ploy Thai on Market Place (down from the health food shop). Lunch for £4.95, owner run, excellent food.
