Try Bogayo if you like Maroccan food. It is on 320 Old Street. Very tasty food, reasonably priced. The place is nicely decorated and filled with ethnic pieces.If someone else is paying, then try Le Bouchon, a very good French restaurant in Old Spitafields Market, but expect to pay between £30 to £40 for a set menu plus drinks.

Thanks but this was too late for our Monday dinner. Went to Cafe a Vin which is in same building as Galvin la Chapelle nr Spitalfields Market. Sorry but don't know whether it was v v pricey but it was a lovely place and the waiter showed us the restaurant in the old school (la Chapelle bit) which is rather amazing. Nice to have recommendation though.
