Threatened allotments
I have asked the lawyers of the vendors to delay the auction so that we The Acton Gardening Association can search for a white knight, or charity money. I even suggested to the lawyer of the vendors Golden holdings, or whatever they are called ( registered for some reason in the british virgin Islands ) give us the land as philanthropists,.It is of no value to them ( recommended sale price £25,000), has no planning approval, no access. It serves the community. Something the original owners of the land the Unworshipful Company of Goldsmiths have forgotten about. they were given this and other land they have capitalised on by John Perryn in the late 1660's for the good of the people of Acton. Let us make this a memorial to the wishes of Perryn! We want the auction delayed so we can find funds to buy it, or a white Knight. Praise here for Berkeley homes, who two years after I wrote to their owner Mr Pidgeley are to include a community growing area in the last part of their Bromyard West flats.
