Homework club scheme
This young man is a friend of my daughter's and also a Teach First teacher. I've no idea whether this idea will fly but said I would spread the word.Please email/PM me direct if you are interested."I am hoping to start a network of homework clubs around London.A key part of these clubs will be the input of retired teachers but I am finding it difficult to contact such people. Please can you pass the below message on to any retired teachers (or soon-to-be retiring staff) you may know. I would greatly appreciate any advice they may be able to give!The ‘Homework Hub’ will be based in libraries and manned by retired teachers, graduates who are looking for jobs and students from local universities. The target audience are pupils from educationally-disadvantaged backgrounds who are expected to achieve above the C/D borderline. It seems that many of these pupils could achieve much better than they currently do, but they are not priorotized by schools with limited resources and a focus on achieving the maximum possible C-A grades.Kind regards,Raphael"
