street party for jubilee

Hi folks. I am thinking of organizing a street party close to north acton playing fields for the queens jubilee. If there is anyone out there who would like to help and advise I would be grateful. I live in a very small road which would be ideal to close off without inconvenience to traffic heading to A40, and am looking for participants and ideas. I thought of a talent contest for the little ones face painting etc everything safe, plus bar b que etc. please feel free to email me at emmdee007@gmail.com. I have all the disco equipment and barbque which will be kept off the road on my drive away from harm. Any takers? Should be a blast and a great way of meeting the neighbours building up a community and having fun.

Have you thought of looking on the "Big Lunch" website? It's got loads of ideas and they will send you a free pack too.the big lunch is on jubilee weekend - the 3rd.

Have you seen the Council's press release on holding a jubilee street party?http://www.ealing.gov.uk/news/article/304/time_for_another_right_royal_knees_upThere should be some more information going out with the next East Acton ward newsletter going out in the next 2/3 weeks (if that’s the ward you live in).  Deadline for applications is April 30th.
