tradesmen recommended on this site
I have been looking for someone to do some painting at home and looked on the services section for recommendations. I got quotes from 2 tradesmen with pages of recommendations for their quality of work and reasonable prices. When they came to give me a quote i was shocked at the prices they came up with. From experience I had an idea of what the job should cost and was stunned when they came up with figures that were 3 times what i would have expected to pay. I am amazed that anyone pays these prices let alone thinks that they are reasonable. One of them even made a quip about wives getting workmen in and husbands just writing off the cheques. I did eventually find someone that was recommended by a friend, they completely renovated her house when she moved. They did the work quickly and efficiently (the work was completed in just over a day) and to a very high standard, lovely finish, and for a third of the price quoted by the others...
